The UNPSA recongises creative achievements and contributions of public service institutions towards a more effective and responsive public administration in countries worldwide. This is the second time this year that Huduma Kenya have won a coveted international award. Recently, it won the coveted African Association of Public Administration and Management (AAPAM) Gold Medal Award in Innovation Management 2015. Launchedby the Jubilee Government, Huduma Kenya Centres are a symbol of transformational leadership and have brought efficiency in government service delivery early known for buearactic delays and in corruption into a seamless process with Integrated Service Delivery (ISD) to provide citizens with multiple-channel, single-window access to government services at one-stop Citizen Service Centres, complete with call centres, mobile phone platforms and web portals. Recently, the government announced that Huduma centres will use smart cards in place of cash to pay for services at Huduma centres a report by the Ministry of Devolution and Planning has revealed. The smart cards are expected to introduce transparency and efficiency in service delivery at all the 13 centres spread in most parts for the county. Launched in November last year, Huduma Centres are a one-stop-shop for services like registration for ID cards, National Social Security Fund as well as National Hospital Insurance Fund and for getting business permits and a driving license, Police abstracts and Identification cards, title deeds, business permits, tax filing, report corruption cases, duplicate national ID’s and many others.
